Nestled at the base of the Perth foothills the City Of Armadale has taken the name from its core suburb. The actual suburb of Armadale sits along the base of the Darling Scarp and is about 35km’s south east of the city. Because it is on the edge of the metro area is seeing many new suburbs with some of the older ones being developed. Some of these are; Mount Nasura, Mount Richon, Seville Grove, Brookdale, Forrestdale and Hilbert. Further to the south Byford has grown enormously since about 2005. Armadale is the junction for some major traffic roads being the South West Highway which until the recent building of Forrest highway was one of the major routes south. It is also where Albany Highway meets the Perth metropolitan area. It has some industrial areas along the highway but also in close proximity, Kelmscott and Forrestdale. The main town Centre is in Armadale but you will find retail all the way along Albany Highway in the suburbs of; Kelmscott, Camillo and to a lesser extent Mount Nasura. Westfield is the home to Champion Lakes Regatta Rowing Centre. Directly east from Kelmscott up the hill along Brookton Highway you will find the small township of Roleystone, with some acreage it is a location for people with horses and hosts the Araluen flower show a popular tourist location.
